The United States delivered Stryker armored personnel carriers with a Protector RWS remotely controlled weapon station to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The United States delivered the first Stryker armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian defense department, Alexei Reznikov, has already "run in" American armored vehicles and was very pleased.
The first Stryker armored personnel carriers entered service with the air assault troops of Ukraine and will soon appear on the front lines, most likely as part of the planned counteroffensive. It is noteworthy that the armored personnel carriers delivered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are armed with the Protector RWS remotely controlled combat module of the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace with a 2 mm M12,7 Browning heavy machine gun, and not a 30 mm automatic cannon, as previously assumed.
However, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Reznikov, was also pleased with such weapons, writing in one of the social networks banned in Russia rave reviews about American armored personnel carriers and gratitude to the sponsors of the regime from the United States.
- wrote Reznikov.
As previously reported, the Americans announced plans to supply Ukraine with 90 Stryker armored personnel carriers. In early March, armored vehicles arrived by sea in Germany, from where they were transferred to Poland and, together with tanks Leopard 2 went to Ukraine. How many armored personnel carriers were delivered in the first batch is not reported, it is possible that Kyiv received all the promised vehicles.
Washington hopes that the transferred armored vehicles will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine defeat Russian troops in the upcoming counteroffensive.
