SBU announced suspicion to the rector of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for "threats to the children of President Zelensky"
The SBU decided to deprive the vicar of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel Lebed, of the ability to protect the temple complex. Recall that Metropolitan Pavel consistently advocates that the Lavra be preserved by the canonical UOC, and calls the so-called “Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, which, with the complicity of the Kiev regime, is going to seize churches and cathedrals throughout the country (and has already captured somewhere), calls it schismatic .
Understanding that Metropolitan Pavel is a major and respected figure for millions of Ukrainian believers, the Security Service of Ukraine decided to act against him “by its own methods.” To begin with, the church hierarch of the UOC was declared “suspicious”. In fact, we are talking about the initiation of a criminal case, in which Metropolitan Pavel was first accused of “threatening the children of President Zelensky”, and then of “working for Russia”.
Pavel himself told the parishioners and monks of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra about this, repeating the thesis that a criminal gang got down to business.
Metropolitan Pavel recalled that the other day he quoted the Gospel, saying the following:
According to the priest, in this way the Ukrainian authorities today make accusations based on quotations from the Holy Scriptures, which in itself is something out of the ordinary.
Recall that the day before, an adviser in Zelensky’s office, Podoliak, said that the authorities did not take advantage of the opportunity to “physically eliminate these persons,” whom he calls “Kremlin agents.” According to this logic, today in Ukraine there are at least 10 million "Kremlin agents" - people who consider themselves Orthodox believers and are parishioners of the churches of the canonical UOC.
