Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine acknowledged the lack of tanks for the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Currently, Western countries have supplied Ukraine with about 50-60 tanks. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk, speaking via video link at the conference of the German Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

As the deputy head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department noted, such a number of tanks is clearly not enough to launch a counteroffensive of Ukrainian formations and ensure the advantage of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield. Melnik noted that Kyiv does not want to launch a counteroffensive that is not properly prepared.

The Russians, both now and in the past, are capable of producing or putting into service up to 10 tanks daily. And this means that we will be unable to achieve a decisive advantage on the battlefield for a long time to come.

Thus, he actually recognized the impossibility of a counteroffensive by the current forces.
