Military correspondent: Armed Forces of Ukraine brought 10 Leopard tanks to the Ugledar direction

In the area of Ugledar appeared Tanks Leopard made in Germany. This is reported by the Telegram channel WarGonzo, referring to the commander of the BARS-23 of the Union of Donbass Volunteers with the call sign "Viking".

According to the military correspondent, the number of Leopard tanks brought near Ugledar is 10 units. This is not a very large number in order to go on the counteroffensive. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that Western equipment would just be delivered to one of the rather important and difficult areas.

In the Ugledar direction, if not an offensive, then its imitation in the form of a distracting strike is expected. But in any case, the guys holding the defense here are always on the alert and ready for the most unexpected developments.

- writes Telegram channel Wargonzo.

Recall that at present, Leopard tanks have already been transferred to Ukraine by Poland, Germany and Portugal. German-made tanks are being sent from several other European countries. The Kiev regime has high hopes for Western military equipment, hoping that it will play an important role in the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced for April-May 2023.

Earlier, the commander of the Russian special forces "Akhmat" Apty Alaudinov said that his fighters really want to capture or knock out German-made enemy tanks, since a very solid bonus has been assigned for each such tank. Meetings with German tanks, according to him, the Akhmat special forces are not afraid.

If the enemy uses Leopard tanks in the Ugledar direction, then there is no doubt that here, too, Russian servicemen will give a worthy rebuff to any attempts to use them to attack the positions of our armed forces.

    Let's believe that they are under Vuhledar only after aerial reconnaissance personnel. I can also say, a submarine in the steppes of Ukraine. Yeah, an Ohio-class nuclear submarine.

        Well, they are not on wheels. And far from coffins. This military equipment was created in defiance of the Department of Internal Affairs and the USSR. With everything attached. There are too many fakes and misinformation from there. In the near future we will see, they will figure it out there without our advice

          Dima, I have another question: why did they get to Ugledar?

      There, remember, a leopard was captured with a Polish crew, then a leopard got stuck in the mud and so on. We only know that there are possibly more than 100 possible. They will not be squandered just like that, they will be concentrated in one place, more precisely on the front section, in order to break through and that's it.

      These are most likely those "Leopard" inflatable rubber bands that were brought to Nikolaev a couple of months ago. They will organize a bluff, while they themselves are in the forests, under the border regions of Russia. (In the forests it is easier and the effect will be cooler).

    What I don’t understand is how they can carry something there. The railway communication should have been interrupted even before the attempts to storm Ugledar. Otherwise, what is the Air Force for?

  9. And what about space reconnaissance? Is it really completely invisible? Well, at least somewhere it flashed: "...detected with the help of a VKS satellite and destroyed by a strike ... "

      A lot of things can be seen from the VKS satellite, BUT there is no automatic recognition of equipment there.
      Just like the USA, for example.
      Analysts are sitting to whom video or photos are pouring, now the tank is here, in half an hour it is there.
      The task of the satellite constellation is strategic, not tactical intelligence.

      Spacecraft should complement the means of ground (RTR) and air reconnaissance.
      Firstly, it's cheaper.. And, secondly, it's faster!
      After all, we have "birds" capable of hanging 50 km above the database area for 6 hours. Recently, even TV rattled that "Outposts" had already appeared on LBS. Their capabilities will not be enough, they will connect the Pacers ... They, too, can "stare" at the sector of the front that is of interest to the command for 48 hours. Everything is possible, but for some reason it is not done. (Or maybe it is being done - most likely it is! - but all this is not advertised to the general public ...)

    For new treaties on binding response in the international arena. And to strengthen the weakening of industrial enterprises. For close cooperation between Rostec and the Federal Penitentiary Service on providing enterprises with qualified specialists without payment for labor.

    The Leopard 2 and T-72 are modern main battle tanks developed in Germany and the USSR respectively. They have different characteristics and features, which can be compared by the following parameters:

    Combat weight: Leopard 2A5 weighs 62 tons, T-72B3 - 46,5 tons;
    Power plant: Leopard 2A5 has a 1500 hp diesel engine, T-72B3 has an 840 hp diesel engine;
    Armor: Leopard 2A5 has combined hinged armor, T-72B3 has combined multilayer armor. According to some sources, the armor of the hull and turret of both tanks is approximately equal in terms of protection against BTTS (700-750 mm);
    Armament: Leopard 2A5 has a 120-mm Rheinmetall cannon with 42 rounds of ammunition, T-72B3 - a 125-mm 2F46M-5 cannon with 45 rounds of ammunition. In addition, both tanks have 7,62 mm and 12,7 mm machine guns;
    Overcoming obstacles: Leopard 2A5 can overcome water obstacles up to 1 meter deep without training, T-72B3 - up to 1,2 meters without training.
    Overall, the Leopard 2A5 is a heavier and more powerful tank than the T-72B3, but also more expensive and difficult to operate. The T-72B3 has an advantage in maneuverability and economy, but is inferior in terms of firepower and protection. Both tanks are capable of performing their roles on the battlefield with the right use and support.

      Tanks Leopard 2 and T-72 run on different types of fuel. Leopard 2 has a 1500 hp diesel engine that can run on diesel or kerosene. The T-72 has an 840 hp diesel engine that can also run on diesel or kerosene. However, the T-72 can also be powered by a 1100 hp gas turbine engine that runs on kerosene only. Kerosene is a more efficient and environmentally friendly fuel than diesel, but also more expensive and difficult to store and transport.

      The fuel consumption of the Leopard 2 and T-72 tanks depends on the engine operating mode, speed, road type and other factors. According to some reports, fuel consumption per 100 km on dirt roads is about 500 liters for both tanks. On the highway, fuel consumption is reduced to 240-300 liters for the Leopard 2 and up to 260 liters for the T-72. In difficult road conditions, fuel consumption can increase to 790 liters for the T-72 with a gas turbine engine and up to 600 liters for the Challenger 2 with a diesel engine.

      The power reserve of the Leopard 2 and T-72 tanks also depends on the volume of fuel tanks, which can be different depending on the modification and equipment of the tank. According to some reports, the cruising range on the highway is about 500 km for the Leopard 2 and about 430-500 km for the T-72. Over rough terrain, the range is reduced to about 350 km for the Leopard 2 and to about 250-350 km for the T-72. The capacity of the fuel tanks is about 1200 liters for the Leopard 2 and about 1200-2100 liters for the T-72, depending on the modification.

    Armament: Leopard 2A5 has a 120-mm Rheinmetall cannon with 42 rounds of ammunition, T-72B3 - a 125-mm 2F46M-5 cannon with 45 rounds of ammunition.
    The 125 mm 2F46M-5 gun is a modification of the 2A46 tank gun developed at OKB-9 in Sverdlovsk. This gun is installed on the T-72B3 and T-90M tanks. It has a 51-caliber (6350 mm) smoothbore barrel that can fire armor-piercing sub-caliber, HEAT, high-explosive fragmentation shells and anti-tank guided missiles.

    The main differences between the 2F46M-5 gun and previous versions of the 2A46 are as follows:

    Improved firing accuracy by reducing the dispersion of projectiles and missiles;
    Increased firing range by increasing the initial speed of shells and missiles;
    Increased barrel resource through the use of new materials and technologies;
    Simplified replacement of the barrel due to the quick-release connection with the breech;
    The reliability of the shutter has been improved due to the improvement of the reloading mechanism.
    The ammunition load of the 2F46M-5 gun is 45 rounds, of which 22 are located in the automatic loader. The rate of fire of the gun is up to 8 rounds per minute. The initial speed of armor-piercing sub-caliber shells reaches 1800 m/s, cumulative - 950 m/s, high-explosive fragmentation - 760 m/s, missiles - 350 m/s. The effective firing range of armor-piercing sub-caliber and cumulative projectiles is 5000 m, high-explosive fragmentation - 12000 m, missiles - 9000 m
