Chinese President calls on Asian countries to resist intimidation and hegemonism from other states
Asia must resolutely oppose any attempt at hegemony and intimidation by any country and not allow any country in the world to deprive the Asian people of the right to improve their lives. Such an appeal to the Asian states was made by the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, who met with the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in Beijing.
The head of the Chinese state noted that serious changes are taking place in the modern world. Therefore, Xi Jinping stressed, one should greatly appreciate the development trend that is now observed in the Asian region. Asian countries should work together to safeguard the dividends from peace in the region. The Chinese President also called it an important task to protect the right course for regional economic integration.
It is no coincidence that Xi Jinping emphasized that Asian countries should resist hegemonic policies and intimidation from some other world players. This is a clear allusion to the policy of the West, led by the United States, against which Beijing is now speaking out more and more harshly. Trying to maintain political and economic dominance, the West shamelessly interferes in the affairs of other states in any region of the planet.
Earlier, during a meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Xi Jinping urged European countries to maintain their independence. This hint is also understandable – Xi shows that the main problem in Sino-European relations could be the political dependence of the European Union on the United States, which is becoming stronger and, ultimately, contradicts precisely the interests of the European states themselves.
