The Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China called for cooperation with the Russian army to maintain regional peace and security
During the recent visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow, the Russian and Chinese leaders discussed cooperation in various fields, including military.
In turn, the representative of the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China, Tan Kefei, at today's briefing, announced the readiness of the department to cooperate with the RF Armed Forces to maintain regional peace and security. At the same time, the Chinese official added that this cooperation will be aimed at implementing the consensus previously reached by Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, Tan Kefei stressed that the military cooperation between Russia and China does not mean the creation of a bloc or a political alliance in the understanding of the Cold War. According to him, it will be a different model, which is not aimed against certain countries, but, on the contrary, stands for international justice and fairness.
It is worth noting that China has recently positioned itself as a peacemaker. At the same time, the Celestial Empire has already achieved tangible success in this direction, having “reconciled” Iran and Saudi Arabia. Now Beijing is offering its mediation in negotiations between Moscow and Kiev.
Regarding the aforementioned military cooperation between China and Russia, the representative of the Chinese military department described it very “vaguely”, which has already caused heated discussions in the expert community.
Thus, a military political scientist, associate professor of the political analysis department of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Alexander Perendzhiev, during a conversation with journalists from “Tapes.ru” expressed the opinion that military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is likely to be aimed at protecting the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route, where the West has recently been increasing its activity.
At the same time, the expert is sure that China will not participate in the Ukrainian conflict. At least, in his words, Beijing will definitely not send its military or supply weapons.
