In the United States, two Black Hawk helicopters fell as a result of the collision
In the United States of America, an emergency occurred in the sky over the state of Kentucky. The governor of the state says that two military helicopters collided in the air. Both rotorcraft performed a training flight.
As it became known, we are talking about Black Hawk helicopters of the US Army.
The press officer of the Fort Campbell military base, to which the helicopters are assigned, says that the fate of the crew is still unclear. At the same time, the governor of Kentucky said that "most likely, the crew members died."
According to some reports, there was a pilot error. The helicopters approached each other, and one of them touched the blade of the other. As a result, the helicopters began to fall. At the same time, there is no information about the specific height from which the helicopters fell.
Search and rescue operations are underway in the crash area. Army units are involved, as well as Kentucky rescuers.
After some time, a release was distributed at the military base, which states that the command is focused on caring for helping family members of military personnel. This may be evidence that the crew members of the helicopters were killed.
The helicopters belonged to the 101st Airborne Division, known as the "Screaming Eagles".
