The fire on the gas pipeline in the Pelym region of the Sverdlovsk region was the result of an explosion. This was announced by the head of the administration of the urban district Pelym Shahit Aliyev.
Earlier, a number of media outlets reported that a pipe depressurization occurred at the section of the Yamburg-Yelets 1 gas pipeline, as a result of which a fire started. Emergency services and repair teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Yes, there was an explosion on the gas pipeline. There were no people there. The rest of the gas burned out of the pipe, there was a fire
- Shahit Aliyev emphasized in an interview with a correspondent TASS.
The fire on the gas pipeline was quickly localized and extinguished by the fire brigade. Gas supply to residents of the nearby urban-type settlement Pelym was not disrupted.
However, the question remains open about the causes of the explosion, which became the starting point for the fire that began later. So far, the official version of the causes of the explosion has not yet been announced by the relevant structures.
Recall that at the end of December last year there was an explosion on the main gas pipeline Urengoy - Pomary - Uzhgorod, in Chuvashia. Then the consequences of the explosion were much more critical: there were dead and injured. Now, fortunately, there were no human casualties.
