The Russian Aerospace Forces launched a Soyuz-2.1v launch vehicle with a satellite for the RF Ministry of Defense

Yesterday, the Russian Aerospace Forces conducted another successful launch of a carrier rocket with a satellite from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region. A message about this was published on the official page of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the VKontakte social network.

According to published information, we are talking about the Soyuz-2.1v light class launch vehicle, which carries a spacecraft for the purposes of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The rocket was launched at 22:57 on March 29.

The launch of the carrier rocket and the launch of the spacecraft into the calculated orbit took place in the normal mode

- noted in the message of the Ministry of Defense.

The satellite of the Ministry of Defense, which received the designation "Cosmos-2568", was successfully launched into orbit and taken over by the Aerospace Forces. All systems of the spacecraft are also functioning normally, the ministry said in a statement.

Recall that this is the second launch of a carrier rocket with a military satellite over the past week by the Russian Aerospace Forces. On March 23, the Soyuz-2.1a rocket went into space with a spacecraft for the Russian Defense Ministry from the same Plesetsk cosmodrome.

In February, Russia launched three launch vehicles from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan - one Proton-M and two Soyuz-2.1a.

Are we getting ready for the Ukrainian offensive?

This is probably a reconnaissance satellite. By the way, I note that there have been several similar launches over the past year

Yes, they are gaining momentum. The frequency of launches is increasing, which is encouraging.

As well as several deorbits of the launched vehicles ..

    Why so much pathos?
Based on how fluid... uh... our satellite constellation looks,
such launches should take place in the morning, afternoon and evening.
This (launches) should be a routine, and only when the grouping doubles in size (becomes at least like the Chinese one) and it will be useful, you can add a little pride.

Yes, the USSR did exactly that. Joke. But seriously, then launching satellites was really a chore. Yes, and astronauts too.

About let's calculate the required number of reconnaissance satellites needed for constant monitoring of Ukroreich:

The revolution of the satellite around the Earth is 90 minutes - during this time the Earth rotates 10 -12 degrees
    on the 10th revolution the Earth will rotate 120 degrees for 20 m - 240 approximately on the 26th revolution - again over Khokhlostan - 26 * 90 minutes = 39 hours!

for one satellite, such a trajectory will be obtained in projection onto the Earth recourse
That is, 1 satellite - only after 1 day 15 hours will fly over Ukroreich again!

According to this, satellites are needed minimum 20 - slaughter Ukroreich: ((((

How many military satellites does Russia have - request ... but I don't think 20 - well 10 at best :(((
Moreover, for flight and reconnaissance at night and in bad weather (cloudiness), radar equipment must be installed on the satellite (not every American satellite is equipped with this equipment)

    So there you go!

But - worthy Attention ONE! Ours understood (I hope) their mistakes in conducting space reconnaissance - I hope even more satellites will be launched in the future! hi

Americans tell us a lot about military satellites? So the Russian Federation needs it - one was reported, and three were launched.

The Americans were attracted to reconnaissance functions - all NASA satellites (regardless of purpose) + private satellites + satellites of the European Space Agency - having at least the slightest photo and other detectors that allow monitoring the RF Armed Forces am

Are you sure that most of our satellites do not perform dual-use and reconnaissance functions as well? winked

Americans tell us a lot about military satellites?

Well, they generally report. About any rocket launches. This is a measure, including that provided for by the START treaty.
So the Russian Federation needs it - one was reported, and three were launched.

It is necessary - 3 launched, and it seems that this is the problem.

China covered its territory (Beidou) - 15 satellites.
      Japan (QZSS) - 3.
      India (IRNSS) - 7.
      French (DORIS) - 5.
      Russia (GLONASS) - 24.
You don't think you think you suck?

"The orbital satellite constellation of Russia, as of December 2019, has more than 150 spacecraft, almost two thirds of which are military satellites."

The orbital satellite constellation of Russia, which includes socio-economic, scientific and dual-use vehicles, as of January 2022, has 102 spacecraft. At the beginning of 2019, the total number of Russian satellites was 88, in 2020 - 94, in 2021 - 99.

And if in geostationary orbit (well, or what is it called)? To hang purely over Ukraine around the clock.

Geostationary orbit is an altitude of 35000 km, there is not much to see from there.
And spies fly at an altitude of 100 with a little.

Geostationary 47 km! Although it probably depends on the mass of the satellite!

For 2022, there were about 50+ purely military departments
Plus, the Ministry of Defense uses GLONASS satellites quite densely (about 30 pieces), plus Rodnik (communication satellites, about 25 pieces)
I suppose that the rest of the Russian satellites can one way or another be involved in the tasks of the Ministry of Defense
