The President of Russia dismissed Colonel-General Chupriyan from the post of First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation
Colonel-General Alexander Chupriyan has been relieved of his post as First Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, it is published on the official portal of legal information.
The decree emphasizes that Colonel-General of the Internal Service Anatoly Chupriyan is dismissed from the post of First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters. The reasons for the resignation of the general are not specified, perhaps they are related to the general reaching the age of 65: Alexander Chupriyan celebrated his anniversary on March 23.
Colonel-General Alexander Chupriyan served in the fire department for the entire active part of his life, where he came in 1979 after serving in the army. He went from an ordinary firefighter, then the head of the guard, to the head of the Main Directorate of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister and First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He was awarded the rank of Colonel-General of the Internal Service in 2008.
Chupriyan held the position of First Deputy Minister from 2018 to 2023. In 2021-2022 he was acting Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation after the tragic death of the Minister for Emergency Situations, General of the Army Yevgeny Zinichev. Chupriyan has been awarded a number of high state awards and has a doctorate in technical sciences.
Who can replace General Chupriyan for the post of first deputy head of the department is not yet reported, as well as whether the ex-first deputy minister will work in any new position or go on a well-deserved rest.
