Adviser to the Acting Head of the LPR: APU used carpet bombing tactics in Donbass
The militants of the Kyiv regime resorted to the tactics of "carpet bombing" of civilian objects, prohibited by the Geneva Convention, during the battles for the cities of Rubizhne and Severodonetsk in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR).
As the RIA News with reference to Anna Soroka, adviser to the acting head of the LPR, head of the interdepartmental working group specializing in the victims of Ukrainian aggression, the militants of the Kiev regime targeted these settlements, in addition, they carried out artillery shelling that did not have a selective effect, as well as carpet shelling using the tactics called envelopes, when shells are placed at the corners of the square and in the center, while cutting off people's escape routes.
The Ukrainian army has repeatedly fired from artillery systems of 155 mm caliber, as well as from installations of the MLRS BM-21 "Grad" of objects that were obviously related to civilian infrastructure, such as schools and kindergartens. At the same time, Ukrainian militants had confirmed information that local residents were hiding in the basements of these buildings.
According to the Geneva Convention, carrying out carpet bombing of an area in which there are concentrations of civilians is a war crime.
Soroka also said that during the time since the beginning of the special operation, the remains of two and a half thousand civilians who died as a result of Ukraine's military aggression were found on the territory of the LPR.
