The Minister of Defense of Ukraine called the conditions and approximate dates for the start of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In the spring of 2023, the Ukrainian armed forces will launch a counteroffensive in several directions. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, talking with ERR correspondents.
As the head of the Ukrainian military department noted, the counteroffensive could begin in April-May 2023. However, the exact timing of its holding will depend on the main condition - the weather conditions in the region. Reznikov noted that in the spring the ground in Donbass is very wet, therefore, it needs to dry out a little before the start of offensive operations.
Reznikov emphasized.
Also, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine touched upon the appearance at the front tanks German made Leopard. He stressed that Kyiv has already received these tanks from Germany, Canada, Poland and Portugal. Reznikov promised that they would take part in the counter-offensive in several directions, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would make a more accurate decision.
The West is betting heavily on the spring counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. If it turns out to be a failure, then the issue of further financial and military assistance to the Kyiv regime will become very acute. Now both in the USA and in Western Europe they are increasingly talking about how long it is possible to provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine, since the resources of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are not unlimited.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky earlier also stressed that if the Russian armed forces liberate Artemovsk (Bakhmut), then this victory of Moscow will make the West doubt the further meaning of support for Kyiv.
