As reported in the official Telegram channel of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, the prosecution requested that Ilnaz Galyaviyev, who is on trial for shooting at a school in Kazan, be sentenced to life imprisonment.
According to information published by the Prosecutor General's Office on Telegram, Galyaviev is waiting for five years in prison, and then the rest of his life in a special regime correctional colony, if the request of the prosecutor's office is granted.
In addition, the state prosecution believes that it is necessary to fully satisfy the moral damage caused to the victims.
According to the prosecutor of Tatarstan, Ildus Nafikov, the debate on the Galyaviev case will be continued, since the court hearing on this case has been postponed until April 10. It is possible that the verdict will be handed down as early as that day, after the defense and Galyaviev himself give the last word, the prosecutor added.
Ilnaz Galyaviev committed a massacre in Gymnasium No. 175 of Kazan on the morning of May 11, 2021. As a result of the explosion and shooting, arranged by Galyaviev (a graduate of the same gymnasium), 9 people were killed - seven students and two teachers, and more than 20 people were injured (mostly students). On the same day, the attacker was detained and later admitted his guilt.
