American edition: Plans to buy Mirage 2000 fighter jets from the UAE and transfer them to Ukraine are denied in Paris
The information that appeared in some French media about the alleged plans of Paris to supply Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighters turned out to be a common stuffing. According to the American edition of The Drive, the French do not intend to buy planes from the Emirates and transfer them to Kyiv.
The American publication, citing an unnamed French official, claims that no deals are planned in Paris with the aircraft transferred to the UAE. The information that appeared in some media is unreliable. However, apart from the statements of the official, there are no other denials.
- said the Frenchman.
Earlier, Intelligence Online reported on the plans of the French to allegedly buy 40 Mirage 2000-9 fighter jets from the United Arab Emirates and transfer them to Ukraine. Before that, there was evidence that the French had already begun training Ukrainian pilots to operate French aircraft, but they were refuted in Kyiv itself.
It is worth noting that the UAE will indeed decommission 59 French-made Dassault Mirage 2000-9 fighters in service with the country's air force, but will only start doing this in 2026 or 2027, after they receive new Dassault Rafale fighters. What will happen next with obsolete aircraft, no one knows yet.
In 2021, France and the UAE signed a contract for the supply of 80 French Dassault Rafale multifunctional fighters in the F4 modification to the Arab Air Force. In addition to fighters, the contract also includes the purchase of 12 Airbus Helicopters H225M Caracal multipurpose helicopters.
