The journalist "caught" the official representative of the UN Secretary General, who tried to deny the American presence in Syria
The notorious American "double standards" are already becoming so obvious that anyone who tries to justify them finds himself in a very delicate situation.
Something similar recently happened to UN Secretary General Spokesman Farhan Haq, when during a briefing a journalist began asking him "uncomfortable" questions about the American presence in Syria and comparing the situation with Ukraine.
Thus, one of them concerned the legality of the deployment of US bases in Syrian territory. After all, Damascus did not give such permission, and even more so did not invite the Americans, just as they did not give a mandate in the UN Security Council.
In turn, Hack did not think of anything better than to try to evade the answer, saying that this is not something that “the organization is dealing with at this stage.”
When the journalist “hinted” at the illegality of the deployment of US bases in Syria, his interlocutor completely lost his temper.
- said the representative of the UN Secretary General.
Meanwhile, the interviewer did not “retreat” and asked the question of how the situation in Syria differs from the conflict in Ukraine.
To this, Hack replied that there was “no situation” in the SAR at all, just like the US military. Stressing that he had not heard of the presence of US soldiers in Syria "on the ground."
Then the journalist recalled the recent attack on an American base in Syria, during which 5 US servicemen were injured.
- caught the interlocutor of the representative of the UN Secretary General.
- Hack, who was cornered, answered in confusion.
What followed was something unintelligible from the official representative of the UN Secretary General, once again emphasizing that he is either incompetent or says only what is beneficial to the US authorities.
