Joe Biden Urges Benjamin Netanyahu to 'Abandon' Judicial Reform

The passions that rage in Israel over the judicial reform of the government of Benjamin Netanyahu did not leave the owner of the White House without attention.

According to The Times of Israel, US President Joe Biden called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "drop" his plans to overhaul the country's judiciary, saying he was "very concerned" about the state of democracy in Israel and warning that Israel " can't keep going down this path."

Biden said he hoped the Israeli prime minister would work towards a "genuine compromise" on judicial reform.

The publication notes that the US President gave a categorical negative answer to the question of journalists about whether he would invite Netanyahu to the White House. Biden also said he did not speak to Netanyahu on the phone.

Asked by a reporter that he might be suspected of interfering in Israeli domestic politics, Biden replied:

We don't want to interfere... We don't interfere. They know my position. They know America's position. They know the position of American Jews.

But what if a call to abandon reform, addressed to the government of another state, is not interference?

Netanyahu quickly reacted to the words of the American president, stressing that Israel will not make decisions based on pressure from abroad, even from "best friends".

Masterpiece. Democracy in the opinion of the United States is the irreproachable obedience to the will of the United States?

Before meeting with Roosevelt, Stalin thought that democracy is the power of the people. But Roosevelt made it clear to him that democracy is the rule of the AMERICAN people.

In the UK and Israel in the usual sense, there is no constitution, within the framework of which, based on the constitution, the state lives. Netanyahu seems to have begun to bring the state of Israel to the constitution .. it wasn’t there ...

Racism in Israel has religious roots. The orthodox parties want to establish a dictate to the whole society, to impose their values on a state scale, while the bulk of the orthodox live on huge state subsidies and do not work. If the judicial reform is adopted, secular citizens will be driven into a religious ghetto. The law on the prohibition of kvass in hospitals on sideways has just been adopted. This is idiocy of the highest degree, and coercive measures up to searches, bags, personal premises. Fines and penalties. Madhouse. To this, so far only the highest court of Israel can veto moronic laws and, plus, put Bibi in jail for fraud, which nitanyahu is pushing through judicial reform. In the case of the adoption of judicial reform - It is a religious and other dictatorship under the guise of democracy.

That for the first time I want Bibi to achieve his goal by any means. The courts should be free from external influence.

The Americans have already lost Turkey, then Saudi Arabia, and now they don’t want to lose Israel either. Hence the Maidan’s attempt to prevent Israel from going on its own.

They are now free from external influence, judges are beaten by a commission of retired judges and law professors.
Bibi, on the other hand, wants to subordinate the courts, making political appointments, by changing the composition of the commission, giving 60% of the seats in it to political appointees. Which will put people in key positions according to the level of loyalty to the ruling party, and not according to the level of professionalism, as is happening now.
Bibi wants an authoritarian regime under the illusion of democracy, like Erdogan.

      Quote from Daishi
But what about sanctions against Israel?

Perhaps Netanyahu was warned about the sanctions. Democracy is a compromise and a solution to all political disputes without scuffles and murders, as was the case under Stalin. Faced with such active and massive resistance, Netanyahu will be forced to compromise. At one time, after the collapse of the USSR, when the "Russian" mafia began to export sex slaves from the former countries and more than 10 of them were transported by Bedouins through Egypt to Israel, where they were kept in inhuman conditions, the United States also put pressure on Israel behind the scenes threatening sanctions. The Israeli police had to move and the courts, instead of 000 months of probation for keeping dens with slaves under lock and key, began to endure 6-year sentences with complete confiscation of property and income, even transferred to relatives and close associates. Israel, after such submission to the "dictatorship" of the United States, did not lose anything good.

The destabilization of the only Middle East ally is now very unprofitable for the United States, because the influence of the United States in the region is already tending to zero.

Here they are, it turns out that the Jews are not all right with democracy, and it's time for the United States to help them with this. The Jews know the position of Biden, the position of America, the position of American Jews, but they act based on their position. And this is not order. And in Israel, these statements do not seem ridiculous, and perhaps even threatening (the American practice of transferring "democracy" to other countries)? Or still a raven will not peck out a crow's eye.

Bibi wants to take the judiciary out of external control.

On the contrary, he wants to deprive her of her independence and get the opportunity to put political appointees loyal to the ruling party into the judicial chairs.
That violates the fundamental principle of the independence of the branches of government.
In Israel, the legislative branch has already grown together with the executive, if they crush the judiciary, nothing can prevent the formation of a dictatorship.

The "independence" of a system (in this case, the judiciary) from internal actors means its "openness to dependency" on external ones. A holy place is never empty, and complete independence, independence from anything - does not happen in nature. request

"The reform initiated by the country's ruling elite, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, may deprive the courts of influence on the decisions of the authorities. According to the current law, the Supreme Court has the ability to block the adoption of laws that are found to be inconsistent with the Constitution. If the proposed amendments are adopted, the veto of the court can be overcome by a simple parliamentary majority of 61 votes."

          I can not agree.
Bibi wants the judges in the courts and in the Supreme Court to be representatives of different political and religious views, and not loyal to one party or another.

Bibi wants to take the judiciary out of external control.

This was done in Israel when Bibi was three years old, in 1952 by passing the "Law on Judges".
Prior to the adoption of the law, judges were appointed by the Minister of Justice, and only the judges of the Supreme Court required the approval of the Cabinet and the Knesset.
With the adoption of the law, a committee for the selection of judges (khavada livchirat shoftim) appeared, consisting since 1984 of 9 members.
However, there are 3 judges of the Supreme Court in its composition - the most stable and cohesive third of the Committee (there are always all "friends" there, by analogy with theirs "Hevrat Hashmal" - the State Electric Company), which can easily veto the acceptance of a candidate requiring a minimum of 7 "For" votes out of 9.

Americans would be indifferent if this reform took place in other years.
Now the Iranian question has matured, there are rumors that the Americans are preparing an invasion of Iran this year. And then the main figure in this invasion decided to organize strikes throughout the country ... Strikes in Israel can create many problems for the Americans when they invade Iran ...

Americans leave Taiwan for the next decades. They will transfer production, build up military bases near Taiwan, and then they will begin to snap back in the form of various blockades of China.
