British instructors spoke about the reluctance of trained tankers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to return to Ukraine
The training of Ukrainian tankers who were trained in the UK to operate the Challenger 2 MBT leaves much to be desired. According to The Guardian, only 20% of Ukrainians managed to cope with the final "exams".
UK completes training of Ukrainian crews tanks Challenger 2, the tanks themselves were also sent to Ukraine, where the joyful Minister of Defense Reznikov has already announced the full readiness of the tankers to perform combat missions on the front line. Prior to this, the head of the British military department, Ben Wallace, stressed that the Ukrainian military had been fully trained and were ready to effectively manage British tanks on the battlefield. As it turned out, this is not so.
According to The Guardian, the curators and instructors of the training mission, who were directly involved in the training of the Ukrainians, said that the tankers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who arrived in the UK for training treated training "with the utmost disdain", they learned the material poorly and did not want to return to Ukraine at all. There were even cases of desertion, because of which it was necessary to strengthen the security of the base. And this despite the fact that not recruits were sent for training, but contract soldiers and officers with combat experience.
- said instructor John Butler, who added that when passing the "final" exam, only 20% of Ukrainians were able to more or less pass the qualification.
The question arises, was there such a situation with the training of Ukrainian tankers in Germany? The fact that their training was not so hot was stated by the Germans themselves, since you cannot train a normal tanker in a month, but they kept silent about everything else.
