General Syrsky, who promised Zelensky to recapture Bakhmut, reappeared in the vicinity of the city
Alexander Syrsky, commander of the SV Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is responsible for the defense of Bakhmut, again appeared in the Bakhmut direction, but he did not even try to get into the city itself, limiting himself to observation from afar. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that he visited "the hottest spots."
The Ukrainian general held a regular meeting on the situation in Bakhmut, as a result of which he got off with general phrases about the "valor" of the Ukrainian military and the need to concentrate all efforts on the defense of the city, as if they were not concentrated there. In general, nothing new against the backdrop of an increasingly deteriorating situation in this area. True, Syrsky credited himself with the "competent" leadership of the defense, thanks to which the Armed Forces of Ukraine still hold the "Bakhmut fortress".
Meanwhile, the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city itself is really difficult, units of the Wagner PMC, encouraged by the news of the transfer of the reserves of the Ministry of Defense to the flanks, went ahead with the intention of completing the operation in the city in the coming days. And they are doing it well, despite the fierce resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The "Orchestra" fighters have already occupied the territory of the Central Market and continue to break through the enemy's defenses by attacking from several directions at once. According to Ukrainian experts, the "musicians" are trying to apply the experience of Mariupol in Bakhmut by creating several boilers at once.
Meanwhile, the counter-offensive announced by Syrsky, for which he received carte blanche from Zelensky, may not take place. The heavy rains have turned the fields and dirt roads impassable, and all but one of the roads are under the control of Russian forces. In the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine they are waiting for the ground to dry out in order to move forward, but it may turn out that by that time the entire city will already be under the control of the "Orchestra".
Information
