Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN believes that Denmark, Germany and Sweden will have to report on their investigations at Nord Stream
On March 27, the UN Security Council voted on a Russian-Chinese resolution providing for the creation of an international commission to conduct an independent investigation of sabotage on the Russian gas pipelines SP-1 and SP-2.
Recall that Copenhagen, Stockholm and Berlin are allegedly conducting their own investigation. At the same time, all information on it is carefully hidden from the world community. Moreover, no matter how absurd it may sound, Russia is not allowed to be investigated at all, even though the sabotage was nevertheless committed on our gas pipelines.
It is worth noting that yesterday the UN Security Council quite expectedly did not adopt the above-mentioned resolution. Meanwhile, no one voted against the Russian-Chinese project: 3 countries (Russia, China and Brazil) supported the initiative, while 12 abstained.
In turn, Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, wrote in his TG channel that, in general, the Russian side can be satisfied with the vote.
According to him, there are several reasons for this. First, in addition to the authors of the resolution, it was supported by Brazil, an ally of Russia and China in the BRICS. Secondly, no one voted against. Thirdly, most of the "non-Western" members of the UN Security Council, although they did not support the resolution, called on Copenhagen, Stockholm and Berlin to be "quick" in their investigation and inform the world community about its progress.
According to Polyansky, the topic of sabotage at Nord Stream by the efforts of Russia and China has every chance to firmly “register” on the platform of the UN Security Council. Consequently, Denmark, Germany and Sweden, sooner or later, will have to report on their investigations.
Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, commenting on the results of voting on the draft resolution, noted that the vote of the United States and Western countries once again indicates that these countries are trying with all their might to cover up traces of participation in sabotage on gas pipelines.
