The United States decided to deprive China of the status of a developing country
According to the American newspaper The Hill, the lower house of the US Congress approved a bill according to which the State Department needs to work to deprive China of the status of a developing country in the field of international organizations.
The bill was supported by 415 members of the House of Representatives.
The publication notes that the Secretary of State is instructed to work on changing the status of China.
It has long been clear to everyone that the PRC has gone very far in its development and has long ceased to be a developing country. Thus, in Washington, unwillingly, they recognized the achievements of China, since the bill provides that the level of the PRC in international organizations is increasing - instead of a developing country, the PRC wants to give one of three statuses: with an upper-middle income level, a high income level, or a developed country.
However, it is obvious that this bill was developed not to please Beijing, but, on the contrary, to do another political dirty trick to it by depriving it of additional preferences due to the status of a developing country. This should be monitored by the US Secretary of State.
It is unlikely that the powerful Chinese economy will suffer much from the fact that it received less Western handouts. Ultimately, such work can boomerang on the United States itself, when the world really evaluates the American economy, taking into account its 31,5 trillion in debt and the real attitude of the United States towards international organizations.
