Speaker of the Crimean Parliament: America has lost its strategic position in the Black Sea region

America after the "Crimean Spring" lost its strategic position in the Black Sea region. The United States cannot accept that this has happened.

As the RIA News, such an opinion was expressed by the speaker of the Crimean parliament Vladimir Konstantinov.

Of course, the "Crimean Spring" took a very serious sweet gingerbread from the Americans

- says the politician.

He recalled that on the eve of the coup d'état on the Kiev Maidan, the US military was one step away from becoming the masters of Sevastopol, where the main base of the Black Sea fleet Russia. The strategic position of this port can hardly be overestimated, since practically the entire Black Sea region can be controlled from here. Moreover, from here Russia also influences the Middle East, the Caucasus and other regions. In addition, the base of the Russian Navy in Sevastopol practically keeps Odessa controlled by the Kyiv authorities in a blockade. And although Ukraine is a faithful vassal of the United States, the Americans do not have the same freedom of action in the Northern Black Sea region as in other regions under their control.

The head of the Crimean parliament believes that the United States-owned drones make reconnaissance flights over the Black Sea, as they have not come to terms with the loss of the Crimea.

According to Konstantinov, the Americans' problem is that, having failed to gain a foothold in Sevastopol, they have largely lost control over the Black Sea region. But of the seven Black Sea states, three (Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria) are members of the US-led North Atlantic Alliance, and two more (Ukraine and Georgia) are actively cooperating with it. But if the "Crimean Spring" had not happened, Russia could lose the naval base in Sevastopol and significantly weaken its position in the Black Sea. Perhaps it is precisely the fact that this did not happen that irritates Washington so much.

It seems to me that Ukrainian history and our adventures in it will greatly affect the size of ships, shipbuilding in general, and the assessment of the effectiveness and use of ships around the world.

How can the actions of ships in a puddle affect the assessment of their effectiveness in the ocean?

Crimea for them is a nice bonus that they failed to snatch. Why do the states need Crimea? Convenient military base? And that's it. So they will be allowed into any port in the water area by Moldova, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Georgia, there won’t be enough - they go to Italy, Greece, France, etc.
We are locked in the black sea tightly. That's all the states really need. That is why they are squeezing Syria and not allowing rapprochement in Turkey - so that we don’t even have a hint of the possibility of free action in the Mediterranean.

Still, the Black Sea Fleet itself would be developed. In Soviet times, at the time of the collapse, there were cruisers, BODs and destroyers, and not in a single copy, at that time a very formidable force. The modern Black Sea Fleet is inferior to Turkey, both in terms of pennants and displacement.

America lost its strategic position in the Black Sea region
But she did not stop dreaming about the Crimea and her base on the peninsula.

Washington (whoever is behind it) is annoyed that Russia still exists as a state, and Crimea, Sevastopol, for them is just a lost battle, but not a war, as they now think.

I'm surprised Odessa was not taken in the beginning of the Special Operation. There must be a reason but I don't know it. Anyone?

Initial stake on fast campaign? There was no point in taking Odessa, when there was a hope for taking Kiev in mere weeks.

The Black Sea has long been called Russian in the X-XIV centuries AD. So be it.

there is no history before the 10th century?
Who has this story? And how to fix this history? Written sources carry information of a certain history. Can someone name those earlier than the 10th century with the rationale for dating their creation?

From a military point of view, and from any other point of view, the Americans do not need Crimea. They can place their bases almost anywhere if they really want to. Soon Finland will join NATO, there will be a base right on the border with the Russian Federation

It has never been and never will be Ukrainian, the Greeks and Romans no longer claim it.
