Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman to Washington: Withdraw your troops from Syria, show respect for international law
18
Iranian authorities have commented on the ongoing US military presence in the Syrian Arab Republic. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said that Tehran strongly condemns the American occupation of independent Syria and advocates that American troops begin to comply with international law and leave the territory of the SAR as soon as possible.
Kanani:
American troops continue to display acts of aggression against the Syrian people. This is terrorism at the state level.
According to an official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, US claims about the presence in Syria "to fight against ISIS (*terrorist group banned in Russia)" are completely false.
Iranian official:
Washington itself took part in the creation of ISIS*. Therefore, statements about the fight against this group are a pretext for occupation, a pretext for plundering Syrian resources, for exporting oil and grain.
Nasser Kanani noted that the continued US military presence in Syria is a clear example of a violation of international law, national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman urged the United States to withdraw the occupying forces and show readiness to respect international law, which is constantly demanded of others.
