During telephone conversations, the heads of the Iranian and Saudi Foreign Ministries agreed to restore diplomatic relations
After negotiations mediated by China, a full-fledged resumption of Saudi-Iranian contacts at the highest level begins. It became known that for the first time in at least 7 years, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia held telephone conversations with each other.
The information is confirmed by both parties.
It is known that Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Faisal al Saud discussed the status of bilateral relations in a telephone conversation. Both ministers noted the importance of the fact that the talks are taking place in the holy Muslim month of Ramadan, which once again proves the desire of both countries for sustainable peace and the development of bilateral relations.
Iranian Minister Abdollahian and his Saudi counterpart agreed to restore bilateral ties and diplomatic relations in full. Accordingly, the process is now underway to resume the work of the embassies of Saudi Arabia in Iran and, accordingly, Iran in Saudi Arabia.
Further, according to Iranian sources, Tehran and Riyadh intend to discuss economic issues, including the restoration of direct trade between the countries, but on new principles - in national currencies, without the use of the US dollar.
Recall that earlier, thanks to the agreements, it was decided to end the war in Yemen.
In the United States, the talks between Tehran and Riyadh caused a negative reaction, which once again confirmed that it is mainly third forces, including Washington, who are interested in the confrontation between these two countries. And now his policy of "divide and rule" is failing, in connection with which it is quite worth expecting new provocations, as they say in the West itself, "under a false flag."
