The British Ministry of Defense has completed the training of Ukrainian tank crews in the management of Challenger 2 tanks
Ukrainian tankers who went to the UK to learn how to operate British tanks Challenger 2 have completed their training and have already returned home. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom.
The training of Ukrainian crews for British tanks has been completed, the tankers have already gone back to Ukraine, and Challenger 2 tanks will soon follow them there. tanks. In London, it is assumed that Kyiv deliberately rushed the British with preparations in order to have time to train crews to use British tanks in the planned counteroffensive.
Earlier, the UK promised to deliver the Challenger 2 MBT to Kyiv by the end of March. It is possible that the equipment is already being sent to Poland, from where it will be transferred to Ukraine. At least the AS90 self-propelled guns promised for delivery along with tanks are already partially on Polish territory.
A few days ago, Ukrainian sources reported that the British had set a condition for Kyiv that the Challenger 2 MBT should in no way fall into the hands of the Russian army. According to reports, the British even offered to install explosives in each tank, which could be used remotely. This is necessary in order to destroy all secret equipment in the tank if, for some reason, the evacuation of the tank from the battlefield is not possible.
Prior to this, the British Ministry of Defense developed a plan according to which Ukrainian tankers should take all possible actions to evacuate British tanks from the battlefield if they are damaged and are in danger of falling into the hands of the Russian military.
