The Polish Ministry of Defense has planned to conduct exercises in the area of ​​the Vistula Spit river near the border with the Russian enclave. The exercises will be held from March 27 to 31, in addition to the Polish army, military personnel from other NATO countries will also take part in them, which ones have not yet been reported. The total number of military personnel who will be involved in the maneuvers will be approximately 2,5 thousand people, as well as 500 pieces of military equipment.

Poland will involve units of the ground forces in the exercises, in particular the 16th mechanized division of the territorial defense forces, engineering units, as well as naval forces. NATO will provide a battalion-tactical group. According to the scenario of the exercises, the joint forces of the alliance will work out crossing the river with the use of engineer troops. Other details are not disclosed, but other episodes will be played, as the exercises will not be limited only to the Vistula Spit River. The maneuvers will also take place in Morgevin, the air base in Malbork and in the port of Gdynia. Conducting naval reconnaissance in the direction of the Gdansk and Kaliningrad (Vistula) bays will be practiced.

The exercises, codenamed Zalev-23, will take place from 27 to 31 March. Units of the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division will take part in them: ground forces, the Navy, logistics and support services, as well as allied forces from the NATO battalion group
