The military correspondent spoke about the process of integrating the People's Militia of Donbass into the RF Armed Forces
From the very beginning of the special military operation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the People's Militia of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, thanks to joint actions, enriched their combat experience. Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov writes about this in his Telegram channel, raising the difficult topic of integrating the People's Militia into the RF Armed Forces.
According to Sladkov, at first the fighters of the NM of the DPR and LPR and the RF Armed Forces called each other only “allies”, they acted autonomously. At the same time, the Russian armed forces were considered much more professional, since they were incomparably better provided with military equipment and weapons.
However, the fighting showed that in some areas the police acted even more effectively than the regular army. As Sladkov notes, Russian officers who had a classical systemic military education received in military schools and academies learned a lot from the commanders of the People's Militia, who fought continuously for eight years.
As a result, the military correspondent writes, there has been a general improvement in the provision of the armed forces, closer interaction has become, and the Russian military and Donbass “militiamen” have ceased to call each other “allies”. As a result, the boundaries between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the People's Militia were erased. After the republics became part of the Russian Federation, the People's Militia were naturally integrated into the RF Armed Forces as the 1st and 2nd Army Corps.
Sladkov notes that the negative experience in the process of integration is still much less than the positive results. This cannot but rejoice, given that the Donetsk and Luhansk units have already taken a special, honorable place in the Russian armed forces.
