The head of the European Council: the decision on the supply of aircraft to Ukraine should not be made by the EU, but by its members

The decision on the supply of combat aircraft to Ukraine should be taken not by the EU, but by its members. But they should understand that Kyiv is in dire need of military supplies from Western countries.

This was stated by the President of the European Council Charles Michel at a briefing after the first day of the EU summit.

He noted that Brussels supposedly does not influence the decisions of European countries to send fighters for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But at the same time, the official immediately hinted that the Ukrainian military needed to increase the volume of arms supplies.

This is a decision that must be made by member countries, so I do not intend to express my own opinion, but we believe that Kyiv needs more support and more military equipment

- said the head of the European Council.

He is echoed by another European official - the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

This is the competence of the member countries, they must decide what and in what volume to supply

- she says.

In the states of Europe, as well as in the leadership of the EU, the supply of aircraft to Kyiv is not considered a priority. In the first place in the plans of the Europeans is the transfer of one million artillery shells to the Ukrainian military during this year.

Yesterday, the Slovak authorities sent the first batch of four MiG-29 fighters to Kyiv. Commenting on this decision, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Grushko said that these aircraft will add to the list of enemy equipment destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces.

Do you understand that the European Union said the same thing about tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery and shells? All kinds of European presidents and NATO generals always say that there is not enough equipment and they cannot give Ukraine more shells. And then a month later it turns out that NATO has transferred all the military equipment worth several billion dollars. It has long been necessary to understand that this is an information war, and believe me, NATO will get both shells and planes and tanks. How much is needed and will be.

Poland will transfer its old F-16s. Fortunately, Ukrainian pilots have already been trained on them in the United States, and Poland is preparing for large purchases of new fighters in the United States and South Korea. Moreover, the pilots, most likely, Polish, will also come to Ukraine.

They just broadcast on TV - the Slovaks promised 33 MiGs with harbour. Some will be airworthy, some as spare parts donors.

PS It’s good that at least some of them are only airworthy ....

What is it, is it like, a division of responsibility or are the Brussels bureaucrats squeezing the loot?

Did the Euro-dirty people fidget or are they throwing dust in the eyes of everyone again?

Well, in general, he says correctly - the EU as such has no aircraft. And the EU doesn't own the planes
Members of the EU have them. Accordingly, he simply said that the distribution of aircraft is not a function of the EU.

At the same time, I took responsibility for myself :)

Which in translation into universal means: "Do not expect and do not ask for monetary compensation from the EU for this"

Everything is like at the temple on the porch, they don’t give compensation to the one who submits, and they don’t give change either.

Somehow, during Pavlov's reform, he sat on skis. Eight kilometers in twenty minutes waved. Grandfather and grandmother said, no, we don’t have fifty dollars and stolniks ...

It looks like they are preparing 404 for draining, in order to say: "it's not my fault, he himself came"!

    Charles Michel
Another "peacemaker" of the EU. And how cunningly he shifted responsibility for the supply of aircraft to individual EU members and he was immediately supported by Ursula, who is a background.

Oh how! And when Putin sent letters to the heads of EU countries back in 2014, Brussels screamed in hysterics that it was unacceptable to communicate with individual countries, that all EU countries should make absolutely all foreign policy decisions together, only unanimously, and it couldn’t be otherwise!

At first they said that they would only put up a defensive one and there would be no heavy one, now the planes .... why aren’t they still on fire from the bases where they are preparing for the transfer?
