Defense Post: Syrian Aleppo clashes between government forces and jihadists

At least five Syrian soldiers and about the same number of militants from the jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation *) were killed on Thursday, March 23, during clashes in the province of Aleppo (northern Syria), writes The Defense Post with reference to data from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). It is also reported about 6 injured military forces of the SAR and 10 wounded terrorists.

Recall that the aforementioned organization is an information bureau of Great Britain and was founded in 2006. Since 2011, she has allegedly been collecting data and documenting human rights violations during the Syrian civil war.

The SOHR report says that the military of the SAR Armed Forces entered into battle with the jihadists after they penetrated into the western part of the province of Aleppo. The organization also said that Damascus responded to the invasion by "shelling civilian positions in Atareb (Aleppo province), injuring 10 civilians."

In addition, in its material, The Defense Post mentions a certain media outlet associated with Hayat Tahrir ash-Sham *, which also reported an attack by members of the group on the positions of the government forces of the SAR, allegedly "surrounding the positions of the enemy, and then injuring and killing many soldiers ".

At the same time, according to the newspaper, the Syrian media did not comment on the incident.

Finally, the article cites the opinion of the head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, who said that the intensification of jihadists, who since the end of last year began to regularly attack the SAR military, is probably related to the potential rapprochement between Ankara and Damascus.

Recall that at the end of December, the defense ministers of Turkey and Syria held talks in Moscow, which became the first such event since 2011.
