The Swedish Parliament approved the delivery of another package of military assistance to Ukraine, including tanks and self-propelled howitzers
The Ukrainian army will soon receive the 155-mm self-propelled guns FH77 BW L52 Archer and Tanks Leopard 2A5 from the presence of the Swedish army, the Swedish government approved the supply of military assistance to Kyiv.
Sweden is sending Ukraine another package of military aid worth $630 million, the Swedish parliament on the eve supported the government's decision to transfer weapons and equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To allocate funds to the Swedish budget, even special amendments have been made. As explained in Stockholm, military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine "is in the interests of Sweden."
As mentioned above, the Swedes will supply Ukraine with eight self-propelled howitzers Archer ("Archer"), ten Leopard 2А5 tanks, as well as obsolete anti-aircraft systems RBS-97 (Robotsystem 97), which are American HAWK air defense systems. In addition, the supply will include ammunition, which is not exactly reported, but, most likely, it will be 155 mm artillery shells. The timing of the transfer of all this "wealth" to Ukraine has not yet been announced, as well as the number of RBS-97 anti-aircraft systems.
The fact that Ukraine will receive up to 10 Leopard 2A5 tanks from Sweden was announced at the end of February by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson. The Swedish government announced the allocation of a certain amount of Archer self-propelled guns for the Armed Forces in early January, promising to include them in the next military aid package, but without clarification. In addition, the Swedes will supply Ukraine with 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, apparently a little later, since, judging by the announced weapons, they were not included in this package of military assistance.
Earlier in Stockholm, it was confirmed that Kyiv was trying to get combat aircraft from Sweden by sending a request for the supply of an unnamed number of Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters to the Ukrainian Air Force. However, the Swedes refused Zelensky on this issue, despite all their sympathy for the Kyiv regime.
