State Duma deputy Khinshtein proposed to introduce the practice of short-term contracts for the police service in the National Guard
In the Russian Federation, a mechanism should be created for concluding short-term contracts for the police service in the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardia). This was stated by the head of the Committee on Information Policy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Alexander Khinshtein, by publishing a corresponding post in his Telegram channel.
According to Khinshtein, such a decision would be justified in the context of the ongoing special military operation. The need for fighters of the special forces OMON and SOBR, which today are part of the structure of the Russian Guard, is quite large.
Hinshtein emphasized.
The deputy also noted that a draft law has already been prepared, which provides for the possibility of sending mobilized former servicemen and employees of the Russian Guard to serve in their native department.
Khinshtein called it unreasonable the situation when a veteran of the special forces of the Russian Guard, whether SOBR or OMON, is registered with the military commissariat as a gunner sergeant, but the real experience he gained over the years of service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Guard is not used in any way.
Khinshtein's proposal is indeed fully consistent with the current situation. It is worth noting that the tasks of maintaining public order, combating crime, identifying and detaining or destroying saboteurs in the liberated territories that have recently become part of the Russian Federation are very important. It is obvious that there are not so many forces to carry out these tasks, given that the current police and national guardsmen are needed in places of permanent service.
