The head of the DPR instructed to create a civil defense headquarters in the republic

A civil defense headquarters will be created in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The corresponding decree was signed by the acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.

The decision to create a civil defense headquarters was made against the backdrop of the ongoing special military operation to liberate the Donbass, including the territory of the DPR. The headquarters will be headed by the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic.

Currently, the post of Minister for Emergency Situations of the DPR is held by Lieutenant General Alexei Kostrubitsky. He headed the department back in 2014 and was at the head of the republican Ministry of Emergency Situations for all the difficult nine years when Donbass lived in a state of permanent armed confrontation with Ukraine.

It should be noted that this order of Pushilin is very relevant, given the ongoing shelling of settlements by Ukrainian artillery, the difficult humanitarian situation, as well as the risk of depleted uranium ammunition, which was previously promised to Ukraine by the UK, at the disposal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. There is also a high risk of the use by Ukrainian formations of other types of weapons that are dangerous for the environment and civilians.

The work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR is doubly difficult, since firefighters and rescuers are forced to act in situations with an increased risk to life. Every day they eliminate the consequences of the brutal shelling of settlements from the Ukrainian side, provide assistance to the wounded, and evacuate civilians.
