The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania promised to increase military support to Ukraine in terms of training military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Baltic countries are trying to keep up with their Western partners in providing military assistance to Ukraine. And since there is no longer anything to transfer from weapons and ammunition, they decided in the republics to share military experience with Ukrainians. As stated in the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, the republic will significantly increase military support for Ukraine.
Lithuania intends to train at least 1600 Ukrainian servicemen on its territory. This is for a year, and given that some of them have already completed their training and are currently in Ukraine, applying the knowledge received from Lithuanian military instructors in battles with the Russian army.
- said the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Ganusauskas.
In what disciplines the Lithuanian military train Ukrainians, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense does not report, it is known that in February a group of Ukrainian military instructors for fire training was released. In Latvia, the situation is the same, they seem to be teaching something, but what exactly is not reported. But with Estonia it’s easier, in Tallinn they immediately reported that they had trained artillerymen, infantrymen, doctors and snipers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, the preparation of artillery crews is still ongoing.
- said the Minister of Defense of Estonia Hanno Pevkur.
It is worth noting that Lithuania is the most active of all three Baltic republics in the issue of Ukraine, Latvia also supplies weapons, but much less, and Estonia is more busy strengthening its security, therefore it is investing in weapons for its own army.
