Exports from Georgia to the EU declined, while exports to the CIS reached a historic high

Georgia has been actively trading with the countries of the European Union for a long time. In 2014, the country even became part of the EU free trade area. Since then, the European Union has been Georgia's largest trading partner. At the same time, there was a progressive increase in trade between the EU countries and Georgia, and, conversely, it was decreasing with the CIS countries.

According to some data, the EU countries accounted for more than 25% of Georgia's trade turnover. At the same time, the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States accounted for less - about 22%.

However, according to the data provided by the Georgian specialized press, this year the export of goods from Georgia to the EU countries has become significantly lower than it was a year ago. Thus, in the first two months of 2023, about $116 million worth of goods were exported from Georgia to the EU, which is 12,6% of Georgian exports. At the same time, it is noted that in January-February last year, Georgian exports to the EU countries accounted for about 21% of the total volume and amounted to almost $160 million. Thus, in monetary terms, exports to the EU decreased by more than a quarter, and in percentage terms - by almost half.

And over the same period, exports from Georgia to the CIS countries, on the contrary, increased significantly. In the first months of this year, it reached a historic high and amounted to more than 530 million dollars, which is more than 200 million dollars or almost 40% more than last year.

And mostly to Russia. Therefore, the Georgian authorities are in no hurry to open a "second front", since now it is not economically profitable for them

Talking about "Georgia's export to the CIS" is such a way not to openly say that "export to Russia."

We remember, we remember how quite recently in our criminal news they said tolerantly that "crime has no nationality" and even invented a special nationality - "Caucasian".

For me, for example, the absence of "Borjomi" in stores is not critical. And what we sell in wine boutiques and alcohol stores under the guise of "Kindzmarauli" - I would be embarrassed to water the pigs with this. Although I’m not Greta, I still feel sorry for the animals, so mock them ...
But because for this, I think, "CIS" (Russia) will survive without Georgian wine, "Borjomi" and tangerines.

      And further...
Georgian "oranges" to be transported to Tbilisi. And better - by cash on delivery to Nuerk and Chicago - let them shoot each other with the Italian, Negro and other mafias.

The question is ... what do they export to us? Wine, Lavrushka, Borjomi... what else?

I admit that certain types of goods are being transshipped from Turkey. Based on the fact that a number of Georgian regions are thoroughly under Turkish business.

Parallel import... is also an option, you shouldn't rule it out.

The main reason that Donbass rebelled against the Kyiv junta in 2014 is not a language problem or something like that, but a clear understanding that without the Russian Federation, the people have no future.

It's just that the returnees through the Upper Lars were included in the Georgian export goods. smile

And the maximum import for this article was in the previous reporting period - and was not included in the current statistics. smile
