German doctor asked for Russian citizenship and was going to volunteer for Donbass
Unusual history German doctor Thomas Mertens told the SHOT telegram channel. A 45-year-old man has a Russian wife Natalya, the eldest daughter studies at a German school and, despite the fact that she was born in Germany, considers herself Russian in her soul. The teenager refuses to speak openly in support of Ukraine and against Russia, for which the girl is subjected to persecution.
Mertens, who worked as a doctor in the Disaster Medicine Service, got into trouble when he refused to take another shipment of medicines and ambulances to Ukraine. He and his wife fell under repression. Then the family decided to move to Russia.
First, Thomas went to the LPR on a tourist visa, where he signed up for an international detachment. He worked in a field hospital, treating wounded soldiers.

Now Thomas has moved in with his wife, who lives with her youngest child in a Crimean village. His three-month tourist visa is expiring, but the doctor does not want to return to Germany. If he arrives in Germany, he faces a prison term of up to 15 years for working in the NWO zone, which, with good behavior, can be halved.
Thomas expects to get a residence permit in Russia and is going to volunteer for Donbass again to help Russian fighters.
