Germany called for the creation of a contact group of leading Western countries for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine

In Europe, calls for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine are becoming louder, but no demands have been made for Ukraine to start immediate negotiations with Russia. Still at the proposal level.
In Germany, they are proposing to create a "contact group" that could work on the issue of peaceful settlement in Ukraine. This proposal was made by the former head of the Munich Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger. According to him, it is necessary to launch a peace process, and several countries that are part of this community could do this. As the main ones, he suggests the USA, Great Britain, Germany and France, which should form the "core", and the rest of the participants can be recruited later.
The task of this group is to mediate in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, as well as in the conclusion of a peace treaty. In fact, Ischinger proposes not to leave Kyiv unsupervised and to negotiate only in the presence of Western advisers, who should keep Zelensky from rash steps, but in reality to protect his interests or bargain for something.
At the same time, it is emphasized that it is not necessary to demand immediate negotiations from Ukraine, this is tantamount to capitulation of Kyiv.
Earlier, the leadership of some EU countries, in particular Germany and France, declared the inadmissibility of interference in potential negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. The same Scholz emphasized that Kyiv should independently decide what the peace treaty would be like and how to end the conflict. Zelensky should act as an independent figure in the negotiations, and not a Western puppet.
At the same time, neither the United States nor Europe agree to peace talks on Russia’s terms, therefore they are in favor of continuing hostilities, hoping that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will defeat the Russian army and thereby provide Ukraine, and hence the West, with the opportunity to dictate their terms to Moscow .
