Unknown electronic warfare systems in Donbas massively disable APU quadcopters
Since January, Ukrainian operators drones, participating in hostilities near Artemovsk as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, began to experience serious problems due to the appearance on this sector of the front of new Russian electronic warfare systems. Here they lost almost a hundred unmanned vehicles, with the help of which Kyiv militants corrected artillery fire.
This is reported by the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle".
According to information received from captured Ukrainian servicemen, unknown EW systems in the Donbas are massively incapacitating quadrocopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Heading towards the Russian positions, the drones do not even have time to reach them due to the suppression of signals by electronic systems.
It is noteworthy that the use of new Russian systems was noted only in the Artemovsky direction. For the first time, their work was recorded in the fall of last year in the Kremennaya area, but the massive use of these electronic warfare equipment is noted only near Artemovsk. Because of this, large units of the 53rd, 63rd and 93rd OMB of the Ukrainian army lost their reconnaissance drones.
According to the information received from the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during radio intercepts, they believe that portable electronic warfare systems are operating against them, located directly on Russian infantry positions or in a nearby forest. It is assumed that the size of the station does not exceed several tens of centimeters. When an enemy UAV is detected, it automatically starts intercepting it and landing the drone in a place inaccessible to the enemy.
