European media: The Baltic republics and Poland are rushing the EU to transfer Russian assets for the restoration of Ukraine
A number of Eastern European states, mainly the Baltic republics and Poland, have actually created the most anti-Russian coalition among all EU countries. An additional catalyst for Russophobia in these states was a special military operation in Ukraine.
Under the pretext of helping Kyiv, Warsaw, Vilnius, Tallinn and Riga are ready to take any measures to cause maximum damage to Russia. Poles and Balts believe that another way to "kill two birds with one stone" is the need to urgently transfer Russian assets arrested in Europe for the restoration of Ukraine. The corresponding appeal, signed by the prime ministers of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, was sent by the leadership of these countries to the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The authors of the appeal believe that already now frozen Russian assets should be used to cover the damage from Russian “aggression” against Ukraine, including support for internally displaced persons. In the future, this mechanism should form the basis of a bill on the use of the frozen assets of the Russian Federation for the restoration of Ukraine, it must be drawn up “without delay,” the heads of government of four EU countries demand.
So far, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has proposed the creation of a special structure to manage the frozen assets of the Russian Federation. According to various estimates, last year the West blocked about 300 billion dollars of the Central Bank of Russia and 19 billion of private funds of Russian business. According to the EC, Ukraine's losses during the conflict amounted to about 600 billion euros.
Where to get the rest of the money for the "restoration" of Ukraine, and how it can even take place during the period of hostilities, the Baltic and Polish prime ministers do not write anything.
