Ukraine and the Czech Republic signed an agreement on the creation of a joint defense cluster. On the Ukrainian side, the document was signed by Ukroboronprom, on the Czech side, by the VOP CZ company, owned by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian concern.
The new agreement implies the joint production, repair and development of armored vehicles, as well as the creation of supply chains for parts and products. The agreement provides for the creation of repair hubs for the restoration of Ukrainian military equipment, as well as the creation of joint research centers. It also includes the production of ammunition at new and established enterprises.
The agreements reached with VOP CZ are the fulfillment of the agreement on the creation of a joint defense cluster with the Czech Republic, which Ukroboronprom and AMOS signed at the end of last year
- said in a statement.
The new defense cluster will include both Czech enterprises, which will act as the main base, and "leading Ukrainian" enterprises, which are not exactly disclosed. It is also planned to involve various "international financial donors" in the work of the cluster. In addition, Kyiv plans to build several enterprises of the defense sector on the territory of Ukraine in "safe places".
According to Ukroboronprom, the Czech company VOP CZ is a profitable partner, since it has experience working with Soviet-style armored vehicles, in particular, BMP-1 and T-72.
