Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN called one of the main conditions for the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine
A further possibility of resolving the situation in Ukraine is connected with the termination of the supply of Western weapons and military equipment. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya during a press conference.
According to Nebenzi, the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the conflict situation will become closer if the West stops the proxy war against Russia, which it is waging with the help of "poor Ukrainians." The diplomat called for a realistic attitude to Russia's concerns about national security issues.
When asked by journalists whether a peaceful settlement of the conflict is possible in 2023, Nebenzia noted that "everyone hopes for peace." But he did not expand on this issue in more detail.
Russian politicians and diplomats have repeatedly pointed out that the United States and the countries of Western and Eastern Europe, by transferring military equipment and weapons to Ukraine, by financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine and sending mercenaries, only contribute to the aggravation of the armed conflict. As a result, both soldiers of the Ukrainian army and civilians of Ukraine and Russia are dying, and the goal of the West to "victory" over our country is in no way approaching.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov described talk of a possible transfer of American F-16 fighters to Ukraine as "absolute madness." In Kyiv, they insist on the supply of fighter jets, the Ukrainian position is supported by "hawks" in the American and European elites.
