The Swedish press actively covered the street trial of Kurdish activists in Finland over a doll depicting Erdogan
Initially, Finland and Sweden discussed all joint steps regarding joining the North Atlantic military bloc. The planned entry was to take place jointly by agreement. Without the first and second. But, apparently, understanding all the difficulties of Stockholm's path to NATO (because of Turkey's position), Helsinki decides to join NATO without Sweden.
As soon as this became clear, information appeared in the Swedish press about the demonstrative burning of a doll depicting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Finland, as well as about the activities of radical Kurdish activists.
The demonstration took place in Oulu in Finland on Monday. A doll depicting the President of Turkey was brought by protesters demanding the release of the founder of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (the party is considered extremist in Turkey) Abdullah Ocalan.
The Finnish police had previously denied the use of PKK flags to demonstrators, but this time in Oulu the flags were flown in the central part of the city.
Arpad Kovacs, the initiator of the action, claims that Erdogan is the terrorist, not Ocalan.
- says the initiator of the demonstration.
As Kovacs spoke, the doll was tied up with ropes and lifted into the air with sticks. On the chest was a sign with the word "terrorist". A kind of show trial was arranged.
The Swedish press actively covered this action in the Finnish city, clearly hinting that in this case Turkey should also consider whether to accept Finland into NATO against the background of its refusal to accept Sweden there after the action with the burning of the Koran.
