Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine called Artyomovsk "an impregnable fortress"
Artemovsk, which in Ukraine is called Bakhmut, is surrounded by dominating heights that impede the advance of Russian troops. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine created powerful engineering fortifications on the outskirts of the city.
The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Syrsky, called Artemovsk an "impregnable fortress". According to him, natural and artificially created conditions help the Ukrainian military to successfully defend itself.
- declared the general.
A senior military officer is optimistic, saying "the battle continues."
Meanwhile, there were reports that Russian units entered Artemovsk from the northern side.
And back in mid-January, Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Ahmad special forces unit, said on the air of the Rossiya-1 TV channel that Artemovsk was actually cut off from the supply of food and ammunition. Thus, the "impregnable fortress of Bakhmut" is actually under siege. It can be assumed that the lack of supplies for Ukrainian troops will at least weaken the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or even make further resistance not only pointless, but also impossible.
Despite the heavy losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the continuation of the offensive operations of the Armed Forces and volunteer units of Russia, the Kyiv authorities have a negative attitude towards the idea of a truce with Moscow. In particular, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Zelensky's office, spoke about this earlier.
