The Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine spoke about the tactics of breaking through the Ukrainian air defense system by the Russian Armed Forces
According to the deputy head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitsky, the air defense of Ukraine can be broken through. Moreover, according to him, Russia has used the breakthrough tactics more than once.
According to him, the Russian Armed Forces are doing this through the mass use dronesfollowed by missiles.
A representative of the Ukrainian military intelligence noted that during one of the latest Russian attacks, NASAMS air defense systems, which are in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, “were actually reloaded during the raid.” If there are too many drones in a certain direction, then the Ukrainian military will simply not have time to reload the air defense systems and, thus, the air defense system in that area may be interrupted, Skibitsky believes.
The Deputy Head of the GUR also added that the Russian Armed Forces are constantly changing places, directions and launch heights. dronesto make it harder to deal with them.
The military intelligence of Ukraine stated that at the moment Moscow is experiencing a shortage of Iranian Shahed UAVs (recall that this is how Russian Geranium drones are called in Kyiv, but, according to Ukraine, another batch of these drones from Iran will soon arrive. Skibitsky said , that, according to his data, Russia should receive 1750 "Shaheds" in total, of which 660 drones are already used by "Shaheds".
One of the components of the air defense of Ukraine is the Norwegian-made NASAMS air defense systems. These complexes are designed to combat air targets at low and medium altitudes - drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, aircraft and helicopters.
