The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the formation of assault brigades "Offensive Guards"
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is going to form some kind of assault brigades "Offensive Guard". This was told by the acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Igor Klimenko.
According to Klimenko, Bureviy, Chervona Kalina, Kara-Dag, Rubezh, Spartan and Azov units will be formed within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The creation of the Steel Border brigade as part of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is also announced. In addition, the Lyut brigade will appear as part of the National Police of Ukraine.
In total, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine plans to create 8 new units that will be engaged in constant combat training and participation in operations on the front line. Klimenko noted that these units will not have any rear missions.
The minister stressed that the personnel of the units will be formed from police officers and military personnel with extensive combat experience. It is planned to understaff them exclusively with volunteers who will be able to perform combat missions.
According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Kyiv regime is going to use these units in hostilities in the Donbass and Crimea. True, it is not very clear why it was necessary to create "police" formations in the presence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is more similar to the creation of paramilitary units in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in case of any internal conflicts in the Ukrainian elite. Otherwise, it is not very clear why police detachments will be more effective than the formations of regular armed forces - airborne assault, mechanized or motorized infantry brigades.
