The American analytical center ISW named the most likely direction of the strike of Russian troops as part of the offensive

The Russian command is preparing a large-scale offensive operation; at present, the forces of the Russian army are creating conditions for the transition from defense to offensive. This conclusion was reached by the so-called American think tank, better known as ISW (Institute for the Study of War) - Institute for the Study of War.

Analysts of the center, studying daily reports from the front, concluded that a large-scale offensive, which the Russian command is clearly preparing, will begin in the Donbass. It is suggested that the main blow will be delivered from the territory of the Luhansk Republic and this will happen in the “coming months”. Other data, apparently, were not dug up in the center.



In its analytics, the Center refers to the statement of Ivan Timochka, Chairman of the Council of Reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who said that Russia is strengthening its grouping in the Donbass as part of the expected offensive. The statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who stressed that Russia does not intend to conduct peace negotiations and is preparing for a further escalation of the conflict, went into the same piggy bank.

Statements by Stoltenberg and Timochka confirm ISW's preliminary prediction that Russian troops are creating the conditions for an offensive, likely in the Luhansk region in the coming months

There are also positive aspects in the Center's analytics, in particular, ISW confirms the capture of Blagodatny by assault detachments of PMC "Wagner", while in Kyiv they continue to assert the opposite. In addition, the control of the Russian army over the village of Vodiane near Avdeevka, as well as attempts by the Russian Armed Forces to encircle Ugledar, was confirmed.
