Ex-Ambassador of Ukraine Melnik called the number of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles necessary for the spring counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ukrainian General Staff is planning a spring counteroffensive, under which Western countries plan to supply armored vehicles, including Tanks. And the faster and more it arrives, the more successful the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be.
In Kyiv, they plan to liberate the entire "captured" territory, reaching the borders of 1991, but before the Armed Forces of Ukraine must reach the borders before February 24. This will require several large-scale offensives, but the first counter-offensive is planned for this spring. To do this, Kyiv needs to have at least 300 tanks and 500 infantry fighting vehicles. In addition, it is necessary to train crews for armored vehicles and infantry, and this is now a very painful topic for Kyiv.
According to Melnyk, who currently holds the post of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, it is this number that will allow the Armed Forces to conduct a military operation with minimal losses, but with maximum effect. He did not take these figures from the ceiling, they were presented by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
- said the Miller.
In December last year, Zaluzhny said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could reach the borders before the start of the Russian special operation, but this would require a large supply of Western weapons, including 300 tanks, about 700 infantry fighting vehicles and 500 howitzers.
- he stressed.
