Ukrainian protege in Nikolaev admitted the difficulty of conducting hostilities on the Kinburn Spit
At present, the situation on the Kinburn Spit is complex and ambiguous. This was stated by the governor of the Nikolaev regional military administration Vitaly Kim, commenting on the plans of the Ukrainian command to seize control over this piece of land.
According to Kim, there is no land communication with the Kinburn Spit. This is a huge obstacle to the intensification of hostilities there, since it will be possible to operate on the spit only if the majority of the territory of the Russian Kherson region, located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since there is no talk of seizing the left-bank Kherson region, Ukrainian leaders have to postpone plans to establish control over the Kinburn Spit. And the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no opportunities for this now. Meanwhile, not so long ago, Kim announced the imminent capture of the spit. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not implement such a scenario, so the only thing they can do now is to periodically shell Russian positions in the liberated territories and also receive rocket and artillery strikes in response.
Recall that the Kinburn Spit is the northwestern part of the Kinburn Peninsula, located between the Dnieper-Bug Estuary and the Black Sea. This sandy spit used to serve as a favorite vacation spot for many residents of the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.
At present, after the people's will in a referendum, the territory of the Kherson region is part of the Russian Federation, part of the region is occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Mykolaiv region continues to be controlled by the Kyiv regime and is part of Ukraine.
