The French authorities are considering the possibility of supplying Leclerc tanks to Kyiv as a way to convince Germany of the supply of Leopard 2 tanks

The French government is considering the possibility of supplies to the Kyiv regime tanks Leclerc. Such a move is intended to convince the German authorities to approve the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

According to the American publication Politico, a decision on the supply of these tanks has not yet been made, but Paris may take this step in order for Berlin to supply the Ukrainian army with the Leopard 2 tanks in service with the Bundeswehr. in the near future, otherwise, according to the authors of the article, supplies of military equipment will be needed already for the defense of the Ukrainian capital.

The material of the publication also indicates that the supply of Leopard tanks is the maximum possible step of official Berlin, which the German authorities can take under pressure from their key partners in the NATO military bloc. Germany, however, emphasizes that it must not do this alone. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has repeatedly argued that the delivery of German tanks will not take place if other NATO countries, including the United States, do not send their military equipment to the Kyiv regime. In the case of the United States, this refers to the supply of Abrams tanks.

It is also reported that on the sidelines of the Davos Economic Forum, Scholz tried in every possible way to avoid answering questions related to the likely supply of tanks to Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized Western partners for being indecisive about the supply of their tanks to the Ukrainian army.

When someone in the army considered the cost of equipment and weapons. The main thing is efficiency. Don't care about the rest.
Cost excites only the chief financial officer. It is that hamstrings begin to shake when documents are slipped into him for payment.
As for the supply of Leclerc or Abrams, Chifften, Leopard. The delivery includes a repair kit and consumables.
Yesterday, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced the shipment of a new batch of weapons to Ukraine, including:
          - 14 Challenger 2 main battle tanks.
          - 8 units of ACS AS90.
          - 100 armored vehicles, including Bulldog armored personnel carriers, demining vehicles and pontoon bridge vehicles.
          - 100 thousand artillery shells.
          - 100 medium-range air defense missiles.
          - Dozens of UAVs.
          - A set of spare parts for the repair of 122 tanks and armored vehicles.

Apparently, according to the French, there is no better way to convince Germany of the supply of Leopards than to quickly lose a couple of dozen of these vehicles under fire from the Russian Armed Forces. Bravo.

The most electronically stuffed tank and the most expensive and unreliable. Will stand in Kyiv instead of a monument. When Abrams cost 3 lyamas, Leclerc cost 5. The tank is of course a formidable weapon, but in those conditions and with such service personnel it has no chance to live longer than the bare T-72. Let them supply and work out the methods of destruction, even the caliber is not a pity (cheaper) will be used on it

The trouble is, times are changing. Yes, France surrendered to the Nazis in a little over a month, but Napoleonic France is a completely different story. Maybe Leclerc is expensive, most likely unreliable, but the fact that this is an advanced and one of the most modern tanks cannot be denied. Considering his optics and electronics, we must remember that he will see our tank earlier than our tank will see him. Such an enemy is dangerous. Moreover, the price of any collision with such an enemy is the lives of our guys. Don't underestimate the enemy, friend.

Even the Americans fought on them in World War I (then their cheeks were not so puffed up, they were placed in a French tank). And ours, it seems, in the interwar period, something from this "Renault-FT" was "photocopied".

      How will you advertise...
They will put up banners with an invitation to the "Russian safari", "to take revenge on the Russians for Napoleon" (who, by the way, they have a national hero, no matter what) - so the crews will march in formation, they will run ahead of the Leclercs.
They will talk about a real war, they will give the Poles "as an example", the rest - so the French will send these "Leclercs" to the address along with the war and together with Macron.

Something tells me that there will be no second version of the advertising campaign that I have given.

True, there is also the Foreign Legion with all sorts of rabble, beaten off on their heads. But they also need money only alive.

Leclerc is said to be the most electronically sophisticated and "gentle" tank - its use requires a certain culture, incl. service.
