The Western "partners" of the Kyiv regime, trying to compensate for the significant losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in military equipment, take out Soviet vehicles that have lost their combat capability from storage bases and try to create new models on their basis, adapted to the conditions of modern combat. This includes "reincarnation" tank T-72, designated T-72EA.
Work on the modernization of this MBT is carried out by the Czech defense industry with funds allocated by the United States and the Netherlands. The T-72M and T-72M1 tanks, which were in service with Poland and Czechoslovakia, allies of the USSR, come from the mobilization stocks of a number of Eastern European countries. As disclosed in the CZDefence publication, in the process of their restoration and improvement, the machines receive improvements: passive dynamic protection systems, a new communication system (from the Czech company MESIT), improved machine control ergonomics (a new digital dashboard), in some cases more sophisticated equipment for night vision (eye protection from lasers, a thermal imager with optical elements that provide a tenfold increase), engine power increases from 780 to 840 hp. [apparently due to the replacement of the B-46 power plant with the B-84].
Judging by the photographs, the main caliber - 125-mm gun 2A46 - remains the same
As noted, by the end of last year, 20 of the 90 ordered T-72EA were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Every four days, one unit is completed to the level of T-72EA. Czech modernized tanks and other systems help and will help Ukraine in its fight against Russia
- says the publication.
