Russian soldiers are equipped with personal means of detecting snipers and drones

As stated on the foreign resource Defense Blog, the Ukrainian military allegedly got into the hands of the Russian army's laser radiation detector Spider ("Spider"). Along with previously received information about the intention of the RF Armed Forces to acquire this novelty, this indicates the beginning of equipping the troops employed in the NMD with personal means of detecting snipers and drones.
A device weighing 150 g is placed on a helmet (or other parts of ammunition) and recognizes laser radiation with a wavelength of 0,8 to 1,7 microns, in the range of which all known rangefinders, illuminators and target designators work. When a threat is detected, the fighter is alerted in three ways - voice with vibration (indicating the direction from which the danger comes - “left”, “center”, “right”), light (due to the LEDs located inside) and combined.
Two batteries allow the "Spider" to work for 12 hours at temperatures from -30 to +40 degrees.
Mainly, the "Spider" makes it possible to reduce the level of threat posed by drones: UAVs, when conducting reconnaissance, activate laser rangefinders that are part of the optical surveillance unit. They are also used in sniper complexes.
