IAEA Director: We are doing everything possible to prevent a nuclear accident at the Zaporozhye NPP
IAEA Director Rafael Grossi once again expressed his concern about the state of affairs around the Zaporozhye NPP. This is a man whose subordinates, even being directly at the ZNPP as part of a monitoring group and having the opportunity to study fragments of NATO-caliber ammunition exploding after arrivals, “could not determine who exactly was shooting at the territory and area of the nuclear power plant.” At the same time, Grossi once again declares his hope that the ZNPP will be turned into a demilitarized zone.
Last week, the director of the IAEA stated that "weapons must be withdrawn from the station and the station must become a demilitarized facility." At the same time, Grossi argued that such agreements were supposedly about to be reached between Kiev and Moscow. This caused a wide public outcry in Russia, as concerned Russians suspected in these statements plans to withdraw Russian troops from Energodar with the simultaneous appearance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine already on the left bank of the Dnieper.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that there were no negotiations with Kiev in this regard, and that Russia was not going to leave Energodar. True, it was stated that consultations are underway with the IAEA, and this “international” agency is already negotiating with Kiev for its part.
This time, Grossi, again touching upon the issue of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, said that the situation around the plant is unstable, potentially dangerous, bearing risks.
Grossi:
All this can mean only one thing: through the IAEA, Kiev and its Western patrons are trying to convince Russia that there should not be Russian Guard fighters guarding the facility either at the station or around the station. Allegedly, in this case, the shelling of the plant will definitely stop, although the IAEA, as already mentioned, "does not know who is shelling the Zaporizhzhya NPP."
Is it possible to trust the director of the IAEA, as well as any other official from Washington-controlled "international" organizations, as well as any Western politician? This week, Angela Merkel actually gave an answer to this question when she said that by signing the Minsk agreements, the West allowed Ukraine to buy time, in fact, without intending to demand from Kiev the implementation of these agreements. In the case of the ZNPP, if some agreements on "demilitarization" are suddenly reached, it is highly likely that the same will happen.
